Do certificate students have to create a portfolio?

Yes, certificate students are expected to complete all portfolio assignments.  This is because certificate courses can be applied toward a Master of Education degree.

Portfolios also provide valuable evidence of the caliber of your certificate work. If you already have an advanced degree, your portfolio demonstrates initiative in pursuing professional development and keeping current in your field.

Upon enrolling in a certificate program, you will be expected to complete self-paced online tutorials that walk you through the technical process of creating an ePortfolio and learning how to use it. The tutorials include a series of videos, print guides, and resource pages.

You are expected to complete these tutorials outside of class, prior to your first course, at a time that is convenient to you.  For your ongoing convenience, tutorials are available in the eP Tutorials section of the Master of Education ePortfolio Resource site, linked from the top menu.
