Higher Education Administration Outcomes

 

The Higher Education Administration Concentration prepares graduates to:

 

  • Work across multiple types of institutions, including the administrative functions and operations within community colleges, colleges, institutes, and universities in the U.S. and globally.
     
  • Advance within administrative sectors of a higher education institution (e.g., administration, student life, enrollment management, financial aid).
     
  • Articulate the history, present state, and anticipated future of higher education in a global society, including:
     
    • Issues affecting higher education
    • Roles and functions of various administrative and academic personnel, as well as students, trustees, and alumni
    • Administration, leadership, and management in higher education
    • Structure and governance of varied higher education institutions
    • Policy and legal aspects and their impact on higher education
    • Budgeting and finance within higher education
  • Apply research in the field of higher education to professional practice in institutions of higher education.
     
  • Identify local, national, and global disruptions and their impact on higher education policy and practice, in order to participate in change within higher education.
