Map Unit:

Below are some maps that students created at the beginning of the map unit of places they were familiar with such as their home, bedroom, or neighborhood. 

Below is an example of work that a student did to map their neighborhood and then dictated to a teacher the labels for the different parts of the map. 

Below is the map of the school that students created collaboratively. After practicing mapping spaces that they were familiar with such their homes, bedrooms, or the school yard, they worked either individually or in pairs to map every room in the school. Together they compiled the individual maps onto one large school map.
