My name is Katie and I am a Communications professional, wrapping up my Masters of Science in Organizational and Corporate Communications. I currently work for the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) as a Communications and PR Specialist. I am mostly in charge of commuity outreach and media engagement to help foster kids find a permanent home. I coordinate print and online media coverage, as well as television, with our Wednesday's Child Adventures with WBZ being the biggest aspect of media coverage. 

I previously worked for the House of Blues (Live Nation Entertainment) as an HR Coordinator. There, I applied most of what I learned through my Master's Concentration, which is in Human Resource Management. I learned how to look at my role and work through a strategic, long-term lense. 

I have a few long-term goals when I look towards the future for my professional and personal development. One would be working in internal communications - I would eventually love to transition into the biotech industry. I would still feel like I would be making an impact to the organization's broader goals, while also being in a stable industry.

Another vastly different goal that I have would be to become a writer. I would love to eventually tell my story - my adoption and how it has shaped my life, relationships, goals, etc.
