My name is Kyle Bejnerowicz and I am a musician born in New Haven, Connecticut. I have a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston MA, class of 2017. I study classical music and I am an opera singer. I have been lucky enough to sing in many productions of operas taking me to amazing places like Salzburg Austria and Weimar Germany. Classical music is an art form that doesn’t live as strongly in today's society as in past generations. I believe that music-in-education will be an integral part to the survival of such old traditions. However, the challenge is: how does one innovate something like classical music in a way that doesn’t sacrifice its identity and authenticity?

Music has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a very young boy. When I first started in the music community, I was filled with arrogance and competitive nature. As I matured and was lucky enough to learn from so many great teachers, I realized that education is the biggest building block of a human's growth from childhood- to teen- through adulthood. As I grow further into the music community, I found that collaboration and flexibility were the most important tools to have. I am pursuing a Higher Education Administration concentration at Northeastern concurrently to my studies toward a Master of Music degree. I plan to view all my research of education at Northeastern through a lens that allows me to relate my studies to music-in-education. Music-In-Education can be defined as:

"The educational study of music and music integration related issues in curriculum development, professional development research, educational policy, documentation and program evaluation, skill development, language acquisition and music literacy."

My goal is to learn more about an administrator's role in providing students the opportunity to grow and explore themselves, to learn classroom skills as well as life skills, and to apply all that to what that means for the future of the musical community.
