Relevant Concepts and Literature

 

Even though it was hard to find articles that were solely related to issues on low English proficiency requirements, I was able to find some articles and videos on the English language proficiency requirements and the issues surrounding it. The sources I found will help me build my case study. The sources have information on the English test in general and how they work. They also include information on some of the consequences of lack of English proficiency at the university level and the impact of English language deficiency on academic success. The English testing agencies' webpages help understand the process of the test and how the students are scored. Without knowing the process of the test it is hard to claim and validate that X University is not requiring the needed score for students to be successful. We will also be comparing the required scores for X University and other colleges and universities.
